Robert "Rudy" Radasevich

Partner

Rudy has practiced for the past three decades in the firm’s Financial Restructuring & Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigation departments. As a litigator, Rudy represents the firm’s business clients as plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial disputes before state and federal courts, arbitration panels and appellate courts throughout the country. His comprehensive litigation practice spans the gamut of high-exposure business disputes, including breach of contract, trade secret protection, financial matters, intellectual property licensing and protection, real estate disputes, business torts, and sensitive personal disputes involving high net worth individuals.

Rudy also manages a comprehensive bankruptcy practice focused on the representation of secured creditors, creditors’ committees, trustees and defendants in adversary cases in business-related bankruptcy proceedings. In addition to his litigation and bankruptcy practice, Rudy also provides “big picture” strategic counseling to businesses concerning a variety of risk-mitigation and operational matters, including corporate governance and fiduciary obligations, creating and implementing critical organizational policies, and developing and integrating cutting-edge information technology systems.

He is a problem solver who develops inventive strategies to ward off expensive and time-consuming litigation before it begins. Rudy has extensive experience in arbitration and mediation proceedings before various ADR forums. When litigation is inevitable, he excels at it. He has argued cases before a number of appellate courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States and the Illinois Supreme Court. In a decision authored by then Chief Judge Richard Posner in a case involving a dispute between a Chapter 7 bankruptcy Trustee and state taxing authorities, the Seventh Circuit “commend[ed] counsel for both parties (Benjamin Goldgar for the state and Robert Radasevich for the trustee) for their excellent briefs and argument.” In re Stoecker, 179 F.3d 546 (7th Cir. 1999).

Rudy’s extensive experience in navigating complex disputes through the numerous venues in the legal system – arbitration, trial, administrative proceedings, bankruptcy, estate court and appeals – enables him to make an accurate assessment of the likely path each dispute will follow and then develop a tailored strategy to achieve his client’s objectives.
