Joey is a member of the firm's Intellectual Property & Technology Transactions practice group. A registered patent attorney, he focuses his practice on assisting clients with a variety of patent matters including counseling, litigation and prosecution. He works with clients across an array of industries including chemical manufacturers, pharmaceuticals and life sciences.

At the University of Wisconsin, Joey worked with primates on alcohol behavioral studies in a research laboratory. Between university and law school, he was a legal intake specialist at a firm in Minneapolis. While pursuing his law degree, Joey worked as a law clerk at Chapman Spingola LLP where he drafted motions and performed research. He then became a 2020 Neal Gerber Eisenberg Summer Associate. During law school, he was the president and officer of the Intellectual Property Law Society and a PLI Patent Bar Student Representative.

  • InfoRLife SA and WG Critical Care, LLC v. Hikma Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc. – counsel for Hikma in Hatch-Waxman litigation concerning Hikma’s Abbreviated New Drug Application for midazolam 0.9% sodium chloride (50 mg/50 ml and 100mg/100 ml) solution, for intravenous use. InforRLife’s case was dismissed with prejudice, and Hikma launched its product.
