| August 18, 2010 | Health Care Reform: Round 1 for Group Health Plans
Abstract: Since the enactment of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Reconciliation Act, hundreds of pages of regulations providing guidance to sponsors of group health plans have been issued. This presentation will focus on the interim regulations that address grandfathered group health plans and requirements that become effective for plan years beginning on or after September 23, 2010, including: Compliance with the rules governing pre-existing condition exclusions, lifetime and annual dollar limits on benefits, rescission and patient protections; Coverage of preventive health services; Requirements for claims procedures, including external review; and Extension of dependent coverage to children up to age 26.
