Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP Attorneys Participate in the 2010 Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago’s Lawyers in the Classroom Program

January 29, 2010

Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP is a proud participant in the 2010 Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago’s (“CRFC”) Edward J. Lewis II Lawyers in the Classroom program. The CRFC is an organization dedicated to working with elementary and secondary schools to develop students’ critical thinking skills, civic participation, and commitment to the rule of law. The CRFC trains attorneys to lead interactive lessons and engender meaningful relationships with teachers and students. The Lawyers in the Classroom program partners attorneys with teachers and their students to address the ever-growing need of schools to introduce students to the fundamental legal principles underlying the United States Constitution. Attorney volunteers challenge students to apply legal principles to real life scenarios, assist students to develop critical thinking skills, and offer students an array of positive adult role models. On January 27, 2010, Neal Gerber Eisenberg’s attorney team made its first of five scheduled visits to the William F. Finkl Elementary School in Chicago. The visit was a tremendous success for all involved, and the beginning of what promises to be a lasting partnership between Neal Gerber Eisenberg and the CRFC. Members of the Neal Gerber Eisenberg team of attorneys include Amir Azaran, Dao L. Boyle, Stephen Fedo, William P. Farrell, Jr., Kenneth L. Harris, Douglass G. Hewitt, Michael F. Hughes, Tonya G. Newman, Michael A. Nicolas, David B. Ritter, John J. Scharkey III, Leah A. Schleicher and Stephanie B. Vasconcellos.

“Neal Gerber Eisenberg’s ongoing commitment to community service is at the core of who we are as a firm and as individuals,” said Neal Gerber Eisenberg partner Michael A. Nicolas, who leads the firm’s team of volunteer attorneys. “We are delighted and enthused to participate in the Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago’s Lawyers in the Classroom program. We view it as a unique opportunity to give back to the community in a meaningful and constructive way.”
