George co-chairs Neal Gerber Eisenberg’s Health Law Practice Group and is a member of its Associations & Not-for-Profit Organizations and Corporate & Securities Practice Groups. He has over 15 years of experience providing strategic counseling and legal advice on regulatory compliance and business transactions. LaDale concentrates his regulatory compliance practice on Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Office of Human Research Protection (OHRP), National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Office of Research Integrity (ORI) pre-clinical/clinical research and critical path product development/off-label use compliance; Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute and Medicare billing compliance; and federal tax-exemption and federal grant management compliance. He assists clients in the proactive design, implementation and defense of optimal clinical research programs and product development Phase I to IV critical path strategies. He serves as the lead strategic and legal counsel to several multi-hospital nationwide clinical research networks conducting industry-sponsored and NIH-funded clinical studies, and has worked with pharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostic and biotechnology clients in the successful execution of over 3,000 clinical trials. LaDale focuses his transactions practice on health care and non-health care corporate formations and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, licensing arrangements, tax-exempt financing and strategic affiliations and joint ventures. He works with a range of businesses, including start-ups, not-for-profits and privately held and publicly traded companies. LaDale writes and lectures frequently on a variety of regulatory and business topics, including: “Medtech Manufacturers Can Smooth Projects Path to Market by Optimizing Clinical Trial Strategies” (MX: Business Strategies for medical Technology Executives, September 2007), and “Evolving Role of Medicare in Clinical Research” (American Bar Association, December 2007). LaDale serves as legal counsel to the Thapelo Institute, is on the board of directors of Muslim Advocates and serves on the editorial board of Clinical Trial Advisor. He is vice-chair of the ABA Health Law Section Medical Research Interest Group. LaDale earned his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law in 1990.
