Stephanie Vasconcellos is a member of the Neal Gerber Eisenberg Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation, Health Law, and Information Technology Practice Groups. Stephanie advises corporations, partnerships and tax-exempt entities on a variety of employee benefits issues, including implementing, re-designing, amending and terminating plans, and correcting plan failures.  She counsels clients on COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, the Internal Revenue Code and other federal laws, as well as federal and state data privacy and security laws.  Stephanie also drafts policies and procedures, business associate agreements, plan documents and other transactional documents for employers, health plans and health care providers.

Stephanie is active inside and outside of the firm. She is on the leadership team for Neal Gerber Eisenberg Women’s Network, a group that promotes the professional development of the firm’s women attorneys. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and regularly writes alerts for the Medicare Part D Task Force on current issues. Stephanie also serves as the secretary of the board of directors for Rainbow House, a non-profit organization that works to reduce the incidence and effects of domestic violence in Chicago.

Stephanie earned her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 2007, where she served as a founding member of the Michigan Health Law Organization and an executive editor of the Michigan Journal of Race and Law. She simultaneously earned her master’s degree in public health, with a concentration in health management and policy, from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. In 2003, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree of science, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame.

Stephanie was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2007.
