On September 20, 2021, John A. Biek moderated the panel “State Unclaimed Property Laws: What You Don’t Know Can Still Hurt You” at the ABA Tax Section Virtual 2021 Fall Tax Meeting. The program included an Unclaimed Property 101 primer and discussion of recent applicable litigation, including MoneyGram, Yee v. ClubCorp Holdings, Inc., ClubCorp Holdings, Inc. v. Yee, AT&T v. Geisenberger, and State of New York ex rel. Raw Data Analytics LLC v. JP Morgan Chase & Co., among others. Recent legislation and possible future trends were also addressed.
